Just to add a little more to my comments these scriptures seem apropos:
Even my close friend in whom I trusted, Who ate my bread, Has lifted up his heel against me. (Psa 41:9)
For it is not an enemy who reproaches me, Then I could bear it; Nor is it one who hates me who has exalted himself against me, Then I could hide myself from him. But it is you, a man my equal, My companion and my familiar friend; We who had sweet fellowship together Walked in the house of God in the throng. (Psa 55:12-14)
Now he who was betraying Him gave them a sign, saying, “Whomever I kiss, He is the one; seize Him.” Immediately Judas went to Jesus and said, “Hail, Rabbi!” and kissed Him. And Jesus said to him, “Friend, do what you have come for.” Then they came and laid hands on Jesus and seized Him. (Mt 26:48-50)
Brothers Tim, Jordan, and Steve, thank you so very much for this episode. Very much clarity, both scripturally, and rationally, was brought to bear on these things that are troubling our hearts so much. Due to the weight of these matters, and the addressing of them fittingly here, with as much grace as could be mustered, I think this was the best and most important of all the BTWN episodes I have watched or listened to.
I too was deeply saddened by JMac’s comments. I truly think the respect and friendship he has towards these three men is not reciprocated as much in kind, and it showed during this Q&A session. My hopes and prayers are that despite the many errors made, and the opportunities missed, that God will still bring about much good in the days ahead. God bless you for bringing truth to bear at a time when it is getting harder and harder to find.
