“What you do speaks so loud, that what you say, I can’t hear.”
This, truly, is the foundation of all discipleship (and parenting). Think about it.
What was the call from Jesus? “Follow me.”
What did His disciples begin to tell others? “Follow me, as I follow Christ.”
Look at this theme when reading Paul’s letters:
“You know how you must imitate us.” (2 Thessalonians 3:7)
“We did it to make ourselves an example so you could imitate us.” (2 Thessalonians 3:9
“Set an example for the believers, in speech, life, love, faith and purity.” (1 Timothy 4:12)
“Make yourself an example of good works.” (Titus 2:7)
“You know what kind of men we were among you for your benefit…as a result, you became an example to all the believers.” (1 Thessalonians 1:5)
“More is caught, than taught”.
As a teacher of God’s Word, I’d be the first to remind you about how important teaching is but we must, also, never forget that our lives are “Living epistles, known and read by all men” (2 Corinthians 3:2).
So let me remind you…
